Great perspective, love this.  This reminds me of Zacchaeus in the tree.  He climbed the tree to get a better look at this man he had heard about.  I think he truly had a desire in his heart of hearts to be a part of whatever was going on.  Then he is called out by Jesus that Jesus would have dinner at Zaccs house.  Man, he must have been so excited and in awe that of all the people that were around, he was the one that Jesus wanted to spend time with.

I wonder if this is the same with each of us?  Sometimes we are sitting there wanting to be called but do we put ourselves in that uncomfortable position to belong and join in on what is going on.

    John,

I have thought about that statement that Jason mentioned as well.  As you spoke of, for some, flyfishing is a hobby and that is such a great hobby to have.  For others, it does turn into a sport.  I have noticed my flyfishing going from Hobby to Sport, and it has become such an adventure doing so (and very expensive).

But isn’t that the idea, we can be introduced to something but never take it serious.  Yet, when we understand the cost that was paid, we dont discredit the value of what is involved and begin to dig deeper and find a treasure of opportunities, experiences and passion that we never had before.

Great article John.  It gives me a lot to start thinking about thinking.  It seems to be a very deep subject but one that is necessary, and you only get better at doing life well by doing the deep hard stuff.

    John,

Thank you for this reminder and the deep yet simple questions that Jesus asked.  So many times I will hear these questions or others like it that Jesus asked and will ponder on them.  But nothing changes in my life.  Until I make the decision to live intentional to do something about the answers to these questions.

I am thankful that I get to be apart of such a fellowship of brothers that truly care for each other and motivate me to not just sit there and bleed my life away but to get up and do something about it.
