Would love to learn from others about night fishing on the Current. Anybody got tips and advice to offer about night fishing that stretch of water in late summer into the fall?
Mike,
I have never fished the Current river at night before. Actually I have only fished at night a few times in my life but I do have a few tips on night fishing.
1. Make sure you have fished the area before during the day. Know the area when it’s daytime because getting around at night could be difficult if you have never been there before.
2. Definitely have a head lamp and extra batteries. Bring bug spray because that bright headlamp could bring the mosquitos to you.
3. I would throw streamer patterns. The big browns like to come out at night and they want a substantial meal when they do.
4. Make sure you have a phone (even with satellite capabilities). Just in case you have an emergency. ALWAY best to fish with a partner at night.
5. Make sure you have all your fly fishing tools – forceps to remove the hook when you catch the 28 inch Brown!!
I am sure there are other ideas.
