I just acquired Colorado Guide Flies and it has a great number of great photos of flies along with a material list for each fly. What books on flies and tying have you used or are using?

Hey Bill, if not a hassle bring book to the fly tying session tonight.
I have been reading 101 Trout Tips by Landon Mayer. Excellent read, not specifically for fly tying but, has some great fly pattern recipes, with fly fishing technique on the specific fly.
Thanks.

What about online videos (Youtube) are catching the eye of those that tie. Rob and Jane Klettke have a couple of series that I think offer some good info on flies and tying. Especially the use of rotational vices.

Possible place to get some tying books but it’s hit or miss. In the past I have picked up some great tying books and fly fishing books at the Half Price Books store. Go to their sports section and check out the fishing section. A couple years back I picked up some awesome tying and fly fishing books (hard cover) for 70% off the original price. They have three stores in the St Louis area – Chesterfield, St Louis (UCity) and St Charles.

I am familiar with Half Price Books. My wife and I have been a number of times. It is hard to walk out without at least a couple of books under your arm.
