Forum Home › Fly Fishing Tips and Techniques › Check your fly,
Be sure to check your fly occasionally but especially after a hard fighting fish. After fishing recently and catching a couple of fish I started missing hooksets. After a while, I checked my flies and realized that the trailing hook, the one that had been taking the fish had partially straightened. This may have been the reason for missing some of the bites. checking your hook is especially important if a pesky bush has jumped out and grabbed your fly on the back cast.

Oh Grasshopper,
To catch, one must have working fly.
Always pass on what you have learned!
Also, your fly should be checked after fishing when walking into restaurant to eat!!
“Happens to every grasshopper sometimes this does”
When walking into restaurant, check the fly of the guy behind you.
