Trips: Denver Fellowship is Rockin’

Our Denver fellowship brothers, led by Greg Krochta, has the fly fishing world in their backyard.  Many of them are getting out even though it’s still sort of late winter up in the mountains. Here are some awesome pictures and reports from Greg.  Remmeber if any of you are in the Denver or Colorado area, Greg and his guys would love to meet and fish with you.  They know the spots!!

From Greg: “Guys, I road-tripped out to the S. Platte today and had a great day…2x Cutbows, 1x Rainbow, and 5x Browns…and lost probably just as many prior to the net between 10AM-4PM. Nothing smaller than 12” with most 14”…a couple at 16”.

I had to switch out of the Euro-Nymph mode since the fish were rising…still used the 10.5’ Euro-nymph rod but with drys…a 20-22 Black mayfly midge and a trailing 20-22 juju baetis…most caught on the trailer.  I fly to Baltimore and back tomorrow and plan to do another S. Platte day outing on Wednesday…Who’s in?

…on the S. Platte River in Trumbull, CO yesterday!

Mark Terry, his friend Ed, and I braved the initial cool of the last(?) gasp of winter to enjoy an amazing sunny day in the 50’s! The trout went absolutely nuts starting at 10am and fed/were rising all day long!
Here are a few samples from the day (and a release video).
Don’t forget…the Fly Fishing Rendezvous is this weekend, so go check it out if you get a chance (I’m on-the-road myself)! See the flyer attached in a separate email.
Get out and fish!!

Your brother in Christ,
Greg
