On a scorching hot September day, Bob Palesch and Don Varner were the only two (foolish enough) to go on a trip fishing to Montauk. The weather hovered around 100 degrees, but with wet wading it was bearable. The water was clear and low. We were surprised that there were quite a few other anglers on the water, but it was by no means crowded.
We had reasonable success, catching trout on a variety of flies including Crackleback, chartreuse mop fly, white jig, cream egg pattern, cream cycle worm, and little white thing.
After a good day of fishing, we enjoyed a fellowship dinner at American Taco in Rolla and a good time visiting on the return drive.
