I see that I need a new line … The one I have is cracking …
Rod is : ORVIS (W.S.) – 8’ – #4
Reel is : ORVIS PRESENTATION EXR II – #4F/#4S
What, exactly, should my new floating dry fly line be ?? … I am shopping !! ..
Bill,
I can answer this question a little easier than the other you posted. With an 8ft rod, 4 wt and from your previous write up you mentioned fishing small streams. I would highly recommend the Scientific Angler (SA) floating fly line called Creek Trout line. It is an awesome line for small streams. There is more weight upfront in the line that allows it to cast VERY well for short casts (20 – 40 feet) but I can easily get casts up to 60-70 feet effortlessly. For small streams I don’t think you will need sinking tip line.
Hope this helps,
Kenny
