A while back I bought some gel spun thread for tying some deer hair flies that really require cinching down.
The stuff is really strong as advertised, but videos warn you not to cut with your good sharp scissors.
In fact, Tom Flagler uses a flexible razor blade.
Well I foolishly ignored the advice and now my really sharp Fiskars that I’ve had for over 30 years are dull.
I guess they weren’t exaggerating.
I’ve taken my scissors before to Bertarelli’s Cutlery in St Louis (1927 Marconi Ave). They can sharpen scissors!
