I use exam gloves in cold weather all the time. I have found that latex as opposed nitrile works much better. Nitrile is much more readily available, probably because of allergy issues with latex. The primary reason I prefer latex is that it is tacky while nitrile is slippery when wet. I have used both and I can’t see a signifecant difference in how easily they cut or tear or puncture. Exam gloves have become popular with mechanics. If you know one you might ask him which they prefer and why. I am grateful to this site for setting me on to exam gloves from a trip report years ago.
