Please could someone refresh my memory on the regulation on what Missouri waters/areas single hook lures only allowed?
I tried researching the MDC website but, wasn’t able to find any regulations concerning this.
I appreciate your help on clarification or link to regulation.
Thanks!
Mike
I am fairly sure the regulations for the Blue Ribbon areas are denied by the Fly definition. Which is a single hook lure. I think the Red Ribbon areas allow treble hooks. I feel trebles hooks shouldn’t be allowed anywhere, I have seen people trying/snagging trout on the Current. they said it was by accident but if you watch them “set” the hook repeatedly on the same hook you know their lying.

Red, Blue and White ribbon areas are flies and artificial lures only. Fly definition is single point hook. Artificial lures can be treble. Fly only areas are single point hook (example – Montauk fly fishing only)
Bill & Kenny. I appreciate the regulation clarification. Extremely helpful! I’m confident now on mentoring a few kids on the proper artificial lure use.
Thanks again!
