I have been fighting a bad cold for over a week. Actually trading it back and forth with the wife, I got antsy enough to just head over to a neighbors pond for some practice and hope that I might hook up with something. I hit the shallow side that gets the most sunlight and on the third cast I hooked up with a stout two-pound carp. It didn’t put up much of a fight but still, it was a fish. That was it for the session but it illustrates that if you can get out on a warmer sunny day the fish will hit on those small ponds and lakes.
