I know you all may get tired of hearing these reports, but this is too good to keep to myself. The temps were warm, but the wind was up this morning as I headed to the Watauga River this morning. I was on fish right away with a half dozen rainbows to the net. No pictures of those since they were all in the 10” range. A 14” brown fell to the mop fly and as the weather front passed through, the fish turned off. Just before leaving the river, I decide to put on a white wooly bugger for a few more casts. As the fly hit the water and started to drift toward the bottom, I saw a big shadow come up and take the fly. Once it got to the net, I saw it was a 16” fat brook trout, the largest I have ever caught. It pays to give it one last try! Two trifectas in two days of fishing. This could spoil a guy.
Enjoy the pictures.
