Trips: North Carolina Bound

On a beautiful Saturday morning, Dave Beerbower and Son-in-law Luke Birchenough decided to fish the Watauga River in NC. Luke was going to baptize the new bamboo rod that Dave made for him. Mission accomplished. Luke had a fish on before I even hit the water, and that is hard to do. Fish were plentiful and willing, but most were in the 10”-12” range. I completed the trifecta today and we had a great time on a river with very few other fishermen. While fishing a deep hole, we ran across a family of minks (see the pictures). The momma was having a tough time keeping the four babies in line, but she was giving it her best. All in all, a great day in the water.
