Jake Bopp returned from Lake Taneycomo this past weekend and sent us this report and pictures:
“Hey Kenny! Sorry for just getting back to you. I saw this text while we were out on the boat, then forgot to respond… we had a great time both days. The water was deep at Pointe Royale, but we still managed to catch 6 fish. We stayed by the North shore and waded up stream by the log and in front of the pond. Half of the fish were good size, 15-16” and well fed! Caught all of them on crackle backs. We had just 1 or 2 bites on midges. The next day we had Gina as our guide with River Run Outfitters. Put in by the dam and would paddle up stream and drift downtown he south bank a few times. San Juan worms worked the best. Both red and pink. I had an egg as the attraction fly and the San Juan below that. I caught 7 fish and my stepfather caught 4 or 5 and probably missed a dozen. He had more bites on the front of the boat. Once we got to the island in front of Pointe Royale, we used streamers on the South bank where there was a nice seam. Caught a couple of fish on olive/black streamers then moved down stream. Continued to catch them on the San Juan worms. Had such a great time and thank you again for the advice! My stepfather had a great 70th bday! I’ll send you some photos as well.”
