Ok, we are supposed to be “social distancing”. That doesn’t mean you can’t go fishing and enjoy the outdoors. Just stay six feet back (and make sure you are not feeling sick – at all).
There are some guys that are doing just that. Well, two guys sent in this report after their day of fishing Cardiac Hill:
” We were the first ones on the river parking at the Cardiac Hill lot. We loaded up our gear and even brought our lunches to the stream in plastic coolers (this will be important to note later in the report). After crossing the river, hiding our lunches behind a tree, we headed upstream by walking through the woods on the south side of the river. Reaching a rocky shoal that was the start of a long run that usually held a lot of fish, we started our day nymphing – one euro style and the other with an indicator. San Juan worms and beads (egg) brought several trout to the net. We fished the run twice and then noticed that the “travel bus” had arrived as we saw at least six other fly fishers coming up the river. We fished to the entrance of Cardiac Hill and ate our lunch. Unfortunately the squirrels got there first and chewed up the plastic cooler “trying” to get in our lunch. Just beware.
After lunch we headed down stream and fished very close to the shore on the north side. We switched to olive mohair leeches so to canvas the area. The browns and rainbows liked the leeches and we kept them on. We fished to the big 90 degree turn that cuts to the left and ended there. It was a lot of walking and we decided to fish the suicide hill area another time.
Now the last picture we offer is REAL. We saw this guy on the water and first thought “is that a hat”, “is that a hoodie” no, I think it is really “HIS HAIR”. At the end of the day, “the hair guy” was at the parking lot and we had to get a picture with him. Opps, I guess you now know who wrote this report. Awesome day – I always say if you catch about 6 trout in the Cardiac Hill area you did well – between the two of us we had over 20 trout with many being browns.”
