Here’s a brief report on a recent trip to Montana by Matt McClure. He had the opportunity to fish with his cousin, Lawrence, who when they were younger was like a brother to Matt. Great reunion and awesome trip:
I spent a few days in Montana fishing & hanging out with my Cousin who lives in Bozeman, MT. We spent two days floating the Madison in one of his rafts. Our method of fishing was Trout Spey. We did very well catching mostly browns in the 12-16″ range with a few cut-bows, cutthroat, rainbows and white fish. The recipe was swinging larger streamers. We also spent 1 day hiking the Gallatin. We primarily nymphed on the Gallatin river along with throwing a few streamers. Additionally, we had the opportunity to attend a premiere showing of the Joe Brooks Documentary at Montana State University. For those who are interested in knowing more about Joe Brooks I encourage you search him on the internet.
