Dave Beerbower, Gary Elliott, Jim and Dave Franke decided to take advantage of the good weather and headed to Montauk. Bright sun and a steady wind in the morning brought several fish to the net. Dave started the day with his newly completed “Perfectionist” bamboo and a 15” heavy trout put the rod to a stiff test. It passed with flying colors. The fish were deep all day and Gary switched to a sinking tip line and wished he had done that earlier. Jim was hot with his orange egg pattern while his brother used the olive wooly bugger for his fish. A great day on the water and it was fun watching several dads with their kids out on spring break. Ended the day at Super Smokers in Eureka as we all missed the Bourbon exit talking about the day’s adventure.
