Our final Stream Team event of the year took place on Sat December 12th. We had 9 FATC brothers attend including a couple of new Stream Teamers, and were able to cover both of our Bonhomme Creek locations in a few hours. Heavy rains during the night had our normally slow flowing creek moving. Plenty on water, made collecting the aquatic insects much easier. Although the variety of insects found was a bit down from previous visits, we still found plenty to prove that our stream is still healthy.
As you see in the picture, in some cases we found more insects than we can count. We had 1 net where we counted over 250 Caddisfly larva and still had hundreds left in the net.
If you have not attended a Stream Team event, get in on one of the next ones in the Spring. These are a great way learn about our streams and will help you in your fly fishing.
