Events: Ronald McDonald House

Matt McClure got a new assignment so Kenny wisely??? put me (Paul Jacoby) in charge of the meal preps (4xYear) for the Ronald McDonald House.  I’m no cook or meal planner or ….stupid so I reached out to Mike Bisaga who I worked under at the very successful Alter Fishing Retreat.  We settled on cowboy meat loaf, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, hot rolls and freshly baked CC cookies.  I purchased the ingredients and heard 1/2 dozen times during the prep you don’t get tub butter to cook with.  Harold Bates, John Best, Al Blair, and Tim Welsh joined in the fun of first peeling and dicing 20 lbs. of potatoes (fond memories for all you servicemen).  Mike orchestrated our group on sequence and timing and it was good kibitzing and for me getting to know new acquaintances.  Harold had some former kitchen experience. Tim looked to be at home with a knife whereas John added some blood to the mix.  Al took over the cookies and we all couldn’t resist tasting a hot one on the cooling racks.  The people who ate raved about the meal and a few women asked if Mike was single :-).  At the end we all sat down to a meal before leaving the kitchen cleaner than we found it (great Boy Scout motto).  Our next meal will be in May so watch for notices and come join us in a very enjoyable and rewarding experience.
