Events: Bennett Spring Killer and the Foam Beetle

We had a great turn out last night, December 16, 2025, as Dan Staggenborg did an awesome job teaching us how to tie two of his go-to flies, the Bennett Spring Killer and the foam beetle.  He added a couple tricks not in the online videos that really enhanced these flies.

It was great to see some of the new fly tyers from our Beginner Fly Tying Night show up ready to jump in.  As everyone who ties knows, it is not easy at first and can be frustrating.  Learning comes with practice.  And, as I could see from the smiles last night, lots of guys were catching on.

Now we are looking forward to our next session.  January 20, 2026, Scott Payne will be teaching us two of his hottest patterns for our local waters, the Little White Thing and the electric big Hurt.  Watch your FATC emails for the announcement of this session which will include the materials needed to tie these flies.

See you there!
