Feather Craft/FATC Day – Big Success!
Last Saturday (November 2nd) Feather Craft Fly Shop (FC) and the FATC got together to celebrate fly fishing but with a new partnership. New FC owner, Jeff Mace, asked if he could host a FC/FATC day to honor our organization’s charity and community service work. Jeff also offered all FATC members who buy anything in the store on this day a 10% discount AND on this day, FC generously gave the FATC 10% of all sales.
So, the FATC flag went up and the FATC banner sat in a prominent position in the store. It was an enjoyable day as many FATC members filled the store and the talk of fly fishing filled the parking lot. A big thanks to Glenn Haake who set up the day. The FATC provided a free lunch for all with hot dogs, chips, and bottled water. Kudos to Sterling Short and Matt McClure who hosted by cooking up the hot dogs for all. Your Board of Directors showed up at 9am to set up and the flow of FATC members started arriving around 10am and didn’t stop until closing at 4pm.
New members picked up items they needed to get started and long-time members put the 10% discount to beneficial use by buying some new items to replace the old. I saw fly fishing rods, wading boots, waders, and fly-tying materials being bought. Jim Craig, the lead of our fly-tying sessions, bought fly tying materials for our upcoming sessions. Remember December 3rd is our first fly tying session, and all are welcome. If you are not a fly tier but want to learn THIS is the session you should attend. Jim will teach the basics and our old-head fly tiers will help the new guys during this teaching session. Check our FATC calendar for dates, times and location!
At the end of the day your FATC received a check from FC for just under $400 due to the overall sales by our members. I want to thank all of you that took time out of your day to join us at Feather Craft Fly Shop. Check out the pictures below:
