I recently switched to Redington Sonic Pro HD waders and am impressed with how they fit as well as how light they are yet appear to be very durable.

I love my Devils Canyon BOA. Flexible high top. Very light at 2lbs – 14oz per paire. They have two different spike sole. I have the pair with the smaller spikes and they work great. I recently was to to a member of the group who recently purchased the larger spike soles and several came out with minimal use. I’ve had mine for 2 years. I believe more smaller spikes is better than fewer bigger spikes. It appears there is more stress put on the rubber soles with the bigger spikes as you walk through rocks and up banks etc. and the pressure is more apt to tear them out. Just my opinion.

I have the Korkers Devils Canyon with M2 BOA System and love them. I use the sole with the small spikes and they work great on slippery surfaces and have not lost any of the spikes in over 2 years of wear. They are ultralight at 2lb – 14oz per pair. If you want BOA then for now I recommend the Korkers brand. As a last note I’ve had an opportunity to work with their customer service dept regarding their first line of BOA boots that I used to own. They didnt have the BOA system perfected like they do now. They had me cut up this pair that I paid $89.00 for on STP, send a picture and they sent me a brand new pair of $200.00 Devils Canyon. Their Customer Service is first class.

When I buy a new piece of fly equipment and my wife sees it and asks if I bought something new I tell her no, I’m borrowing it from Kenny. Just checking it out before I buy.

I’ve been fishing Korkers for several years now. I absolutely love my Devils Canyon Model. Super comfy and light. Also great comfortable ankle support. Has the Boa system and would never go back to laces. I did purchase the soles with metal spikes. What a difference they make. No more slipping on mossy or algae rocks.

I’m trying to think who has a full fluff of white hair on their head in the FATC. Maybe they would give you some from their own head. May be the closest you’ll get to polar bear.

I’ve had a lot of success using the leftover streamers from New Years Eve party’s. I go to the local barber shop and collect some hair from the floors and glue onto the different colored streamer ribbon. I then cut them to different lengths and tie them onto size 10-12 barbless hooks. It’s one way I try to save money in this otherwise expensive sport.

Here’s a tip I received from Landon Mayer regarding Thingamabobbers. He prefers clear because they look more natural from underneath the water. He has photos taken from underwater that shows how the clear looks like a surface water bubble vs a more un-natural object floating on the surface. Thought is the trout could interpret as a bubble vs something unnatural especially the pinks, yellows, etc. I will have to say if I don’t have a clear then I go with white.

I agree with having one large bag. I then have my wife perform a physical inventory. If I’m missing something when I arrive I can blame her?

I received a leader recommendation from a fly shop last year that I have been using over the last couple years in trout park waters. I’ve been purchasing 5-1/2 – 6ft clear NYLON braided leaders (you can buy in many different lengths)that come with a loop to attach to your fly line and a pre-tied Tippett ring. This affords me to bypass tying on the ring. I then add approximately 3 ft of Tippett. The nylon braided leaders are light, don’t absorb water and work well on surface or sub-surface. I’ve used the natural thread braided leaders with pre-tied tippet ring but they will absorb water and if you are fishing dry flys you will have to periodically add floatant. They are very durable and will last several seasons. In fact I’ve never worn one out. I always seem to catch a tree trout before actually needing to replace. I guess it ultimately comes down to your personal preference but I encourage you to try out a couple different options.

I’ve personally only seen him use 2 plus a tenkara. Where does he store all the others?
