    I love this.

It says so much about who we are as a society and how we’ve all developed on a personal level (or not).  I’ve had several great mentors throughout my life that amazingly showed up when I needed someone the most.   You think God has something to do with that?

I appreciate everything that John Muckerman has poured into my life as well as the lives of many other men in need.    Thanks to John, I look forward to turning around and playing it forward in my next (soon to be) season of life.

Hey Jim, Happy New Year and thanks for the response.

The Simms Flyweight were on my short list.   Yesterday, I was walking with two FATC members (Matt and Bob) and they both had a pair on and spoke highly of them.   Pretty soon, you’ll be able to tell the FATC members by the upturned nets and the boots they are wearing.   I guess that’s a quasi uniform.

I was planning to get another set of Rock Treads, I tried the screw in studs in my last boots and they failed miserably.

    I appreciate the info!

I recently bought a cheap pair of sunglasses that have readers built in.  It’s nice to not have to take off my sunglasses and put readers on to tie knots.

I know Bob also has a nice pair for sale in the gear sales section of the calendar.  I highly recommend them.

    Glenn.

By definition, it can’t be the cubs…… that wouldn’t be a sacrifice.

Excellent videos Tim.   I think I’ll sit down and try some.

Plus, the best looking Soft Hackle I tied the other night was after I tried trimming off 1/2 of the partridge feather.   Thanks for that suggestion!

    Thanks.

    Glenn.

    MO,

I’m hoping for the exact opposite.   With no campers and no stocking I hope everyone stays away.

It also looks like they won’t be stocking after Friday.

    MO,

This is a great thread.   I’ve always struggled with my sunglasses and reading glasses (to tie on a new fly).   While I don’t need prescription sunglasses I do need readers.   Your thread made me think and I did a bit of research.

I ordered a pair from Amazon that are polarized with 3x readers built in.   I’ve actually used them around the house and they seem to work great, I can’t wait to try them on a stream.

No more sunglasses / reading glasses juggle.   I’ve dropped my sunglasses several times doing this.

    Thanks

I wonder if Mike’s Italian authentic subs are similar to his famous canned authentic Italian spaghetti sauce I’ve heard so much about?

I’ve been seriously interested in a fishing kayak since I read the trip report.   In addition to the information MO is looking for, I’d would love to hear about the best places to go (put in/take out/fish).

    Thanks

Okay,  Good to know that Kenny and Sid think exactly alike.

Next question, how do you know how much drag to use when you have a fish on the reel?

    Thanks for the discussion

Thanks guys, my line did have the little pig tails.  I like the suggestions and will do better at lubricating my line and tighten it with a bodkin.

Kenny, in my mind, the fish that pulled my tippit ring was HUGE!

+1 on the air lock, they are easy to adjust.  I usually carry more than one, so I’d have to lose quite a few caps to kink my day.
