ParticipantI think I will wait for a while before I will hit a park. I wonder what it will be like below the park in the Current? I already see snaggers down there.

ParticipantI checked further and you can still fish. Buy your tag at the lodge as usual. You can camp and hike as well.

ParticipantThe lodge and park office is closed. The state site says the parks are open but I think I would call and ask about the fishing.

ParticipantNew rain gear. I just purchased a Patagonia Salt River Jacket at an over $200 dollar saving on a 2XL. It is in the closeout section. You may have to hunt a little they still list the jacket in the regular site as well.

ParticipantNow that they have shut down the park, what will they do with the fish?

ParticipantMike,
I’ll talk to you soon and see what we can come up with.

ParticipantI am really interested in pursuing this, not so much for the awards, more because of my own desire to fish all the Blue Ribbon areas. All but three of these can be completed with day trips but I would think several would be better done on a weekend. The Eleven Point and the North Fork of the White could be done on a weekend or several days. The bigger problem is finding the smaller out of the way creeks and access.

ParticipantI actually like the Sage Pulse better than the LP if I run into the wind condition The faster action of the Pulse seems to cut the wind better.

ParticipantMerry Christmas, Mike,
Now I have to get this picture of you in an Elf on the Shelf suit. Have a great holiday with your family.

ParticipantI don’t have that many rods to choose from but my go-to all-around rod is my NRX LP. It does most everything well or better. My favorite rod to fish is the 8 1/2 foot 4 weight Sage Pulse for dry flies and honestly does well with Wooley-Buggers too. I have a Douglas six weight that I don’t use as much but if the wind picks up it is a good nymphing and streamer rod.

ParticipantYou might try a fly like a Humpy, a foam one would be very buoyant.

ParticipantMofishMo,
I am interested in the results. I remember the first stocking in 2017, the results were disappointing because of the flooding. Are hatchery-raised fish more easily preyed upon than wild bred fish in a similar watershed? I expect the results from the next stocking to help answer more questions. I am glad that they are continuing the study.

ParticipantI returned from F-C a little while ago with a new Renzetti Traveler. From what I read and all the reviews praising them they seemed to be the logical choice. I put it together and tied a couple of simple foam flies but haven’t tried the main feature of the vise. The rotational capabilities. Maybe we can get into that during the tying classes this year.
