ParticipantIt might help to know where you live. Are you taking advantage of the fly tying class FATC provides? What materials do you need?

ParticipantTo figure out…..again. Last time the Current flooded this bad the fishing was great until the fish spread more downstream.

ParticipantI couldn’t wait so I went to Montauk today and it was a little murky and just about everything has changed. The bottom in many places is soft and steep so watch your footing. I caught 5 fish, two nice ones, two fish first thing in the morning on dries and the rest on nymphs and the cirrus worm. I talked to some people who were camping there and they were evacuated at 10:00 and let back in around 5:00 in the morning. Their site didn’t flood.

ParticipantI have used Redington Pro waders for 5 years fishing once a week for a lot of that time (until Covid). I have had one leak since I had this pair. I destroyed my first pair while fishing. They were still under warranty and Redington replaced them, to my surprise.

ParticipantHave you seen any new flies that you may add to your fly box? I see some in my e-mail inbox. Though I guess most are just variations of old standards.

ParticipantMofishMo,
In your last post, it said that the Trout permit was required for winter fishing in the parks where you cannot possess fish and Lake Taneycomo. Why wouldn’t you be required to have the permit on blue-ribbon areas? It makes sense to me that the permit would be required on the ribboned areas of a stream whether you possessed a fish or not. https://focusedfishing.com/guide-service/license-by-phone

ParticipantHere’s a thought. Maybe you could check and see if there is a fly shop in that area that would be able to recommend a line for you. If they can, try to visit them and get your line and some tips on fishing in the area.
