Dave, I bought a lightly-used Moonshine Epiphany rod from John Muckerman.  3 WT, 10′-6″.  The price was “right” and it was in “like new” condition.  I didn’t want to spend a lot of money to try Euro-nymphing.

Kenny, Thanks for the advice.  I took Jim’s suggestion earlier this week and ordered a floating line that is being delivered today.

Thanks, Jim.  I like your suggestion to go with and the flexibility of the 3-wt. floating fly line.  Thanks, Steve, for reminding me.  I will see you this Thursday, 8/11.  Alawabla

Matt, During the summer of 1978 I worked for a general contractor managing several projects at Ft. Leonard Wood and with a construction superintendent who liked to fish for trout.  We fished the Roubidoux in Waynesville 1-2 nights a week and a private  stream inside Ft. Leonard Wood (closed to the public but open to the military and outside contractors) the other nights we were in St. Roberts.  Many good, but distant memories.  Don’t remember seeing many fly fishermen during the Summer of 78, spin casting was the preferred method of fishing for trout.  Let me know when you’re planning a trip to the area.
