I am in the market for a good wading staff, there are many out there in various price ranges. What should I look for or stay away from?
What say you?
Thanks

Hi Glenn,
I own a Folstaf brand, which I like. I’ve posted the item number and the overall review ratings from LLBean.
It list for $125, but LLBean runs 20% off sales periodically.

Lou,
I’m at that stage – get the best and you want have to buy again. I am a Folstaf guy. More expensive than others – because it is the best.
In my humble opinion

I have a Simms that seems to work well. Didn’t know about Folstaf brand but it appears it is high quality based on comments.

I have just began to use my Simms wading staff. It is the Carbon Fiber model. Nice n light and also unfolds and locks into place without a lot of trouble.
Have been using it as a support/balance staff so don’t put my full wt. on it. The staff has a metal tip on it but I also have the rubber tip as well. Don’t know if the metal tip makes enough noise to spook fish so have not tried the rubber tip yet.
My only issue with the Simms staff is that you had to purchase the retractor separately.
