James Foundation/Maramec Spring Park15 mins ·
On May 4th Maramec Spring Park will reopen for use, with restrictions. In order to properly control social distancing, we will implement the following:
1. Only 250 guests will be allowed in the park at one time. There will likely be a wait at the gate when the number has been reached. New visitors will only be allowed in as others leave. The number of visitors allowed into the park will increase when conditions improve.
2. No admission fee will be charged. Trout tags and licenses are currently waived by the Missouri Department of Conservation.
3. Fishing will be allowed, but trout will NOT be stocked at this time.
4. Playgrounds, pavilions, store, museums, cleaning stations and café will remain closed for the time being.
5. The campground and bathrooms will be open. Please ensure you are safeguarding your health and the health of other visitors and staff by practicing good hygiene and social distancing in these locations.
If the report we heard from an unofficial non-elected official of Montauk State Park is accurate the hatcheries are busting at the seams. Why not start stocking some of those fish in the parks in preparation for the reopening of the parks instead of cleaning them out?
