I recently received an exciting opportunity from the same fly shop I use every year for guided trips in Dillon, MT—the shop that also hosted our last two FATC trips to Belize.

In a November 13, 2025 email, Steve Wilson, manager of Frontier Angler in Dillon, let me know they’ve had two last-minute cancellations for their February/March 2026 trip to the Rio Grande in Tierra del Fuego, Argentina, based out of San Jose Lodge.

From Steve:
“While unfortunate for the anglers who can’t make it, this does create an opportunity for others to step in. We’re offering these open spots first to our preferred travel guests, including FATC members.
We can offer two rods at a 20% discount for the week of February 22 – March 1. The trip includes 7 nights of excellent lodging and 6½ days of fishing.

The total cost is $6,000, with a 50% deposit required to secure a spot. That’s less than $1,000 a day for access to one of the finest fisheries in the world. We hope one or two of you can join us.
We selected this particular week because it’s a prime time to be there—the anadromous fish are present in incredible numbers. Attached is a photo of Shaun, owner of Frontier Anglers, with a fish of a lifetime he caught during this same week earlier this year.”
