There is an interesting film on mussels reproducing and the need for bass to complete that process. Looks like the copepods to me.

I found it interesting and made me wonder if the copepods actually kill all the trout they are found on or if some survive. Trout aren’t native to the Meramac so they probably aren’t equipped to deal with the mussels method of reproduction.
