After 10 years I have  finally worn out my Korker wading bots.  I am looking at Korker Dark Horse and Simms Freestone.  The Simms Guide Boots are a little more than I want to spend but I’m not ruling them out if they are much better than the Freestone..  After looking at reviews etc. I have a few questions.

There has been some complaints about the the grabbing power of the Simms rubber soles.  Some, but very few say they are too slick on rocks etc.

I’ve had an issues with the Korkers over their lifetime.  After five years or so the button on the heel that holds the sole strap has come dislodged inside of the boot outer layer.  I’ve tried to repair it with waterproof wader glue with limited success.

Any experience with either of these issues or these boots in general?
