I think the correct way is tip to butt. Why? If you start at the butt and add the section with the stripping guide and then the next section and then the tip, 4 pcs rod, you will continually add more and more pressure to the butt section and the guide section.

I like your way the two tip sections and then the two butts. Would make assembly easier.
