I was gifted the Dr. Slick Cyclone Nippers over a year ago.  They have remained sharp with no end in sight.  If they do get dull, they come with replacement blades.  All this for around $20 (if you find them on sale) and a bag of chips.  I got the model with the straight cutting face.  They also make a model with an off-set cutting face.
