Forum Home › Ask the Sensei › Talking to trout
Excerpted from The Fly Shop 2019 fly tying catalog, “What do trout hear:” “Some species (of fish) use their pharyngeal jaws or spines to cluck and pluck at slightly higher frequencies (to communicate), and suckers, herrings and trout actually pass gas ( bubbles), called Fast Repetitive Ticks (FaRTs), presumably to communicate with each other at slightly higher frequencies.
Sensei, can we through flatulence in our waders now learn to call in trout much the way hunters call in ducks?
Oh Grasshopper,
Passing gas and Fast Repetitive Ticks (FaRTs) you may try as you talk to trout BUT make sure you don’t go beyond using the SIW (sh*t in waders) technique. The trout will flee if this method is tried.
I know a couple of guy’s that are way to far into the canned chili.
Tim, oh goodness!! Another CCH. 🙂 LOL
Tim, keeping everyone in your family in my prayers! Hoping all went well with the procedure for your wife!
