Grasshoppers:
I have a tip for all those that use the most sensitive New Zealand indicator (actually China came up with it first – I am sure). To keep your yarn/New Zealand indicator afloat longer try this “technique”!
Get a tongue depressor or popsicle stick and glue on a piece of Velcro (the hook side) the length of the stick. Then put it in a safe place in your vest (one that you will remember where you put it). When you have attached your yarn indicator to your leader, take out your “Velcro stick” and add some floatant paste to it. Then brush your yarn indicator to apply your floatant paste. This technique will separate the yarn fibers and spread the floatant on all the fibers of your indicator creating a long lasting. more sensitive float.
Sensi,
Sounds like a great tip! I’m looking forward to trying that out now that my surgeon told me today that I can finally fish again now that I’m 16 weeks out from rotator cuff surgery! Hope I still remember how to cast!!
I like the Velcro / Tongue depresser tip. Makes a lot of sense. Thanks Sensei
