Tim Klotz, Bob Palisch, Al Harper, Scott Payne, Harold Bates & Matt McClure recently spent several days fishing the Spring River located in Mammoth Springs, AR. Fishing was extremely productive whether you were nymphing or swinging streamers. Harold Bates landed his largest trout to date and it was a NICE Brownie. The majority of fish could be categorized and quality size and very healthy fighting fish. Several of us even hooked up with some smallmouth. Scott, Bob, Al & Tim floated one day while Harold & Matt stayed back and fished stretch in front of cabin up to Dam 3. We all caught fish consistently everyday. Each evening was capped off by a fellowship dinner at the cabin with everybody pitching in to prepare and cook a scrumptious dinner. If you haven’t experienced fishing the Spring River I would suggest looking into it. FATC has a relationship with several cabin owners right on the river. If interested in more information reach out to Dan Staggenborg, Glenn Haake or Matt McClure. All three of us have coordinated a trip there and would be more than happy to discuss logistics.
