Here’s an interesting idea for eliminating the agravation of changing dropper depth (especially if you have a hard time getting a knot tied (like myself dealing with essential tremors and 70+ yr old eyes).

I eliminate the sighter section and use a microswivel from the end of leader to the 3x fluor . I also use a tippet ring to attach the bottom tippet to the fluoro keeping the tippet below the fluoro to the minimum depth I expect to fish the dropper. The swivel eliminates the dry on the short dropper twisting and fouling from repeated casts. The tippet ring to the bottom dropper makes it easy for me to tie, avoiding a tippet/tippet knot in favor of a couple double Davy’s.
As an aside I’ve found a #14 Goddard Caddis will suspend a 3.0 mm bead; and fish on the White will eat the caddis even in the winter.
Anything to avoid bobber fishing. (But this is really bobber fishing; it’s just that you occasionally catch a fish on the bobber and allows you to feel smug.)
