Trips: Solo On Taneycomo

Here is another trip from Brain Yost who hit lake Taneycomo again on July 4th

Brian Yost headed back down to Table Rock area to drop his daughter off at camp (again).  He headed back over to Lake Taneycomo to fish before heading home.  This time he started past the “Rocking Chair” access area (which is the next parking lot).  There were a few people visiting the area but no one fishing on this side of the lake.  The only thing you had to look out for were boats flying back up stream and wave runners (which I don’t think should be allowed).  One couple flipped their wave runner and had to be rescued by other boaters.  The water was a bit deeper than last time but still able to wade.  I went back to swinging leaches and nymphs.  I also threw some “meat” (aka grass hoppers) on the top of the water as there were some larger fish coming to the surface.  After fishing this section for a few hours, I went back up to “Rocking Chair” access (which was closer to the dam.  I continued to swing leaches, but this time I had to add a little weight to get them down faster.  Not many pictures as I didn’t want to lose my phone.  Still one of my favorite places!
